Student(s) and their guardian(s) waive any right that they may have to inspect and/or approve the finished product or the advertising copy that may be used in connection therewith, or the use to which it may be applied. Student(s) and their guardian(s) release, discharge, and agree to save NGPA from any liability by any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composition form, whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the making of said images, or any processing tending towards the completion of the finished product. If you are uncomfortable with your student(s)’ image being used for any of the above reasons, you must notify us via email at director@nextgenperformingarts.com.

We recognize that some children and parents may not want images taken at any time. Therefore, before taking images of a child we will:

  • Clearly identify the person who will be taking the image.

  • Ensure a Dance teacher is present when the person taking photos/videos is in attendance.

  • Explain how the image will be used, e.g. whether it will be posted on social media or printed to be displayed.

  • Instruct anyone taking photos/videos on behalf of to only capture images of those students who have/whose parents/guardians have given consent, except for if those images were captured during rehearsals or performances (as detailed below).

  • Only allow for photographs and pictures to be used in an appropriate context.

  • Never add the name of the student alongside the image.

  • Never pass images or video onto any third party, except for when we have permission to do so for advertising purposes, or if those images were captured during rehearsals or performances (as detailed below).

  • Seek written agreement from parents that images and/or video can be taken of their child.

Where we have publicly displayed images, on the school’s website or on social media, parents and students may withdraw their permission at any time. In such cases, the images will be removed as soon as is reasonable and without question.

In some cases, we may ask to use a particular image or video for advertising purposes (e.g. print advertising in a newspaper or magazine). We will only do so with the express prior consent of the student/parent/guardian.

We ask that any parent wanting to take photographs or film only do so with our prior permission. Permission will only be granted on the agreement of all present. Please do not post on Social Media, full dance routines. Choreography is the intellectual property of NGPA.

We will take steps to ensure that any picture or video captured is only used in the ways listed above. We encourage any student/teacher/parent who feels that an image has been used inappropriately to contact a the Studio Director immediately.

NGPA reserves the right, under the conditions listed above, to have a photographer/videographer present during selected rehearsals and performances. Video footage of any performances may be used to create a permanent recording (DVD or other) for the sole distribution to NGPA members. By participating, you acknowledge that you understand this.
